Six focus areas

Scholarship

Serious attention to academic performance. Members commit to graduate on schedule with an above-average GPA.

Character

Principles of effective living: integrity, honesty, patience and fidelity.

Leadership

Taking an active leadership role in chapter and campus activities.

Teamwork

Building relationships, being unselfish and caring about each other.

Service

Service to campus, community and philanthropy.

Brotherhood

A family environment of lifelong friendships built on love, charity and esteem.

Speaking Teke

TKE vs. Teke

TKE is the organization. A member is a Teke, never "Teek."

Frater

Means "brother." It's how Tekes address each other.

"I am a Teke"

Never "I was a Teke." Membership is for life.

Mission vs. tagline

"Better Men for a Better World" is the tagline. The mission is "to aid men in their mental, moral and social development for life."

Headquarters, not "Nationals"

TKE is international. Say International Headquarters, HQ, or the Offices of the Grand Chapter.

Coat of Arms, not crest

Only the 1926 standard Coat of Arms should be used, and only members may wear it. Anyone may wear the letters.

Founders' Day

Plural possessive, because there were five Founders.

St. Jude

Never "St. Jude's."
